Untold

Let's go through this catastrophic tale today.

Let's go through this fantasy of horrors together.

One that is told on the darkest of nights.

A tale untold, but found a way for itself to be told.

One, not of fearless victors or flying fairies living happily ever after.

But one of brutally slain soldiers, destroyed fairy lands and ruins of civilizations.

Of dreaded lands and haunted palaces.

Of kings turned animals and queens turned rags.

Heirs turned soldiers without arms.

Sent on errands of death.

Let us walk through this mind shamming tale.

Of demons consuming their hosts.

And minds tearing itself apart.

Of hearts turning stone cold.

And love consumed by hate.

A tale that's not for the tamest of minds.

It will tear them apart.

It will rip them to shreds and render them frail.

Let us walk through a tale that is not of lies.

But lies in the mind of the beholder.

A tale that later went untold but will be retold.

In folds of mindful codes.

A tale that is feeble and sad.

A tale that is endangering and evil.

Filled with horrors untold.

Of nights with unending maiming.

Let's end the tales of a tale.

The tales of a tale untold.

The tales of a tale that will be retold.

18? 18. 1. I wanted to be 16 forever. For some people, 18 is the "grown-up" age, but I think mine was 16. It was a year of revelations and changes. No, I didn't make any special achievement. I just had a rude awakening, I had a mental and emotional transposition. I knew I had to be 'someone'. 2. I am writing this for me, but it is to you. To anyone who would care to read. It is the most personal piece I've ever written so far. I have a story, and I will tell. "Until the Lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter" _Chinualumogu Achebe 3. I was born on a Saturday, 18 years ago(or almost) People tell me I look and act older than my age. Indeed, I've always felt older, mature, mentally, emotionally and even physically and not till another person told me I look exactly my age, did I think otherwise. 4. I started writing this, the morning of October 4. I've always had plans to wr...

WHO AM I?

WHO AM I?  My name is Victor Olofinluyi. I am a from a prestigious family. A family with a great name, honour and respect. I am also the last child of the family so I am accustomed to being around primarily adults. I was always mature for my age.  In secondary school I was known for many attributes and talents. I draw, I create birthday cards for my friends in School. I was quite creative. I was also known for a good leadership spirit. I was chosen as the class captain in all of my secondary school years. In my final year I was chosen to be the senior perfect boy. I feel that is not enough to be an achievement. Many people believe in me, my friends and my teachers, they invested in me with their time and dedication - my Mathematics teacher, my physics teacher. My parents invested in me too. Their dedication and my determination was rewarding. Luckily, I had an excellent result in my jamb/utme.  My favourite sports are football, tennis and volleyball. I love Sp...

The Conversation Series: The Teenage Limbo 2; with Fadun Toluwawumi

In the concluding part of the conversation with Fadun Toluwawumi,  Read the first part here she talked about her experience with peer pressure and she thinks the biggest challenge for a teen is the struggle to be understood. Read below;  Question: How did you deal with peer pressure? A : I've always believed I'm different from the rest so I can't follow what others have to say about me. My background was a constant reminder to not get engaged in some things. I have been taught some certain truth from the home so my friends saying something similar didn't appear right. I always remember there's a punishment for any mistake made because I have disciplinarians as parents, that alone helped me deal with peer pressure really well. Question: On the vices, Yahoo, moral decadence, indecent dressing, what is your opinion?  Any advice for the teens? A : One thing I've come to notice is, teens, believe whatever they do is right which makes it hard ...
